Frequently asked questions
Should I choose Leeb or UCI?
Leeb (rebound) is fast on large, heavy and thick parts. UCI leaves a very small indentation and is more reliable on thin, small, case-hardened or finished parts.
Which scales does portable hardness testing give?
Testers convert readings to common scales such as HV, HRC, HRB and HB. Conversion accuracy depends on the material group, so instruments should be verified regularly with test blocks.
